Not just any gala, but our first Lustrum Gala!

So go put on your red carpet look of the 1920’s, get ready for the newest premiere everyone is talking about, and dance like you are the greatest star the big screen has ever seen!!

This gala is a ballroom gala organized by WuBDA, the Wageningen Ballroom Dance Association. The gala is open to everyone who wants to join, so bring your friends! The dress code is semi-formal, formal or in-theme.

Slowfox & Paso Doble technique workshop:

Before the party starts we will have a Slowfox and Paso Doble technique workshop taught by Klaudyna Borewicz, former Blackpool competitor and winner of the 2022 NTDS Standard Open. You do need to sign up for that separately (see for sign-up). There is a maximum of participants able to join. To follow this lesson, you should know the basics of slowfox and paso doble. The workshop is suitable for both dancers who only know a few figures and those who are more experienced. This workshop is free if you have a ticket to the gala.


Beginners Cha-cha workshop:

Want to bring your friends, but they cannot dance (yet)? Do not fear, we have just the solution! We will be giving a beginners workshop chachacha the Tuesday (14th of June) before the gala, from 18.00-19.00 at the Wilde Wereld. Sign-up sheet will be available at, there is a maximum number of participants able to join. You do not need any dancing experience to join this workshop! The workshop is free if you have a ticket to the gala.



During the evening, we have a show planned for you. Top ballroomdance couple Leanne Scholtens and Bart Aben will give a demonstration for us to enjoy!



This gala will include a costume competition! So put on your best theme outfit!



We are so lucky to be able to hire Benoît Viguier as our photgrapher for the evening. Benoît specialices in ballroom photography, you may know him from competiotions across the Netherlands and especcially the NTDS and ETDS. Check out his work on his website.

Yes! The gala is open to everyone!
You can either wear a theme outfit (roaring 20s Hollywood), or follow the dress code which is semi-formal or formal.
Yes you can, the gala is open to everyone. We suggest you point your friend to the beginners chacha workshop so they can learn to dance! However, just joining to experience a ballroom gala and not dancing is also allowed.
No, its completely free. but there are limited spots. You can sign up for the workshop just below the sign-up for the regular gala ticket.
For the slowfox/paso doble technique workshop, you are expected to know how to dance a few basic slowfox and paso doble figures. The beginners workshop is for people who have no or little dancing experience.
The location (WICC) has paid parking options next to the front door, for 1,80€ per hour. Click here for directions. However, if you don't mind walking a few minutes, the neighbourhood around the location has free parking. Click here for directions.
The location is a few minutes walking from Busstation Wageningen Click here for directions. If you need directions to get from the bus station to WICC, Click here. It is also possible to rent a bike from the KEOBike carousel at Ede-Wageningen station (you do need an app for that).
It is possible to stay the night at one of our members’ houses. When you sign-up you are asked if you would like to stay over at a member's place. Do note that there is a limited number of spots available! Another option is to book a room at the event location, which is also a hotel. You can book a single room for 65€ or a twin room for 70€ a room by mentioning that you are a guest to our gala in an email to This is based on availability of the hotel rooms.
You are encouraged to wear dance shoes, but it is not obligatory.
Unfortunately not! You can buy drinks at the bar during the event.
