West Coast Swing summer workshop 3

When

21/08/2024
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Type

Hello everyone! After the first West Coast Swing workshop for WuBDA a few weeks ago, I’m very excited that there will be more WCS to dance through the summer break!

About the dance: West Coast Swing is a partner dance that originated from Lindy Hop, but has since then undergone quite a few developments of its own. My favourite parts of WCS are the room for creativity, the wide range of musical styles it can be danced to, and the emphasis on the interaction between the dancers.

About the workshops: There will be three workshops with different topics each. We will start every workshop with fundamental concepts of WCS before diving deeper into one aspect and applying it in some fun variations.

Because the start of the workshops will focus on different concepts, there will be plenty of new things if you attend multiple workshops. At the same time, each workshop stands individually so that you can also follow a single workshop.

You are welcome to sign up without a partner, in whatever role you prefer, and without any previous knowledge of WCS. The only things we ask you to bring are yourself (the most important!) and some partner dancing experience (for example, you followed another course with WuBDA).

About me: My name is Clara, I initially started dancing ballroom and WCS in Austria, where I was also working at a dance school for two years. During the past year, I’ve mainly been dancing ballroom with WuBDA and travelled to international dance events for West Coast Swing. I am incredibly excited by the growing enthusiasm I see for WCS in the student ballroom community and because of that am very happy that I have the chance to give some workshops as well!

Further information: For the workshop the price will be 3,- euro per person. The payments will be done with an payment request (tikkie), or cash (we can’t guarantee change, so please try to ready the exact amount), to be paid at the workshop. The location will be Hall 3 of the Bongerd. We have a maximim capacity of 30 dancers, so make sure to sign up on time.

Please sign up below, so we know how many to expect and have your contact information as needed.
